Notes: “White Noise” starred Michael Keaton. I never saw it, but it gets a 5.4 out of 10 on imdb.com.
I got my first tape recorder in 1970. A friend of mine had a “telephone recorder” device — a flat, rectangular object that sat underneath the phone and recorded calls by plugging directly into the microphone input. It was a sweet deal, and nothing like it could ever exist in our “advanced technological world” of 2013.
I’m truly surprised that you were both unfamiliar with the boiled frog experiment.
Your point about Happy Days can also be applied to That ’70’s Show (The ’70’s as viewed through the ’00’s). Also, at the beginning of the first season of Happy Days, many of the characters had crew cuts. It was only after the show became MASSIVELY popular that they gave up on the genuine ’50’s idea completely and went for the “we’re big celebrities” look instead.
Question for Anthonio: have you ever heard the infamous Orson Welles “Frozen Peas” recording? If you’ve ever objected to the writing of a voice-over script, you should appreciate it. The YouTube link is above.

I don’t know why but the “we’re brothers with each other” gets a chuckle out of me every time. Imagine how embarrassing that is when you’re on a crowded train listening to the latest brothersode.
